Billie Dorene Sconce Trageser, age 88 of Bucyrus, KS passed away March 28, 2014 at Vintage Park of Louisburg.

Billie was born on October 5, 1925 at Kansas City, MO the daughter of Hugh and Loraine Harris Sconce. She was united in marriage to Gene Trageser on January 28, 1943. They've been married for 71 years and blessed with 10 children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Loraine Sconce, her beloved in-laws, Bertha and Joseph, two sisters, Virginia Lewis, Bette Merli and a brother, Charles Sconce.

Survivors include her husband Gene and her children, Dorothy O’Keefe, Phyllis Martin, Carol Huddleston, Bob Trageser, David Trageser, Rose Pearce, Donna Waite, Jane Dunn, Ted Trageser, Gene Trageser, 121 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She told everyone she met that she was a grandmother over a hundred times. Billie was an inspiration for her children and grandchildren.

Billie was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church at Wea. She was a devout Catholic for 71 years. She loved music, singing in the choir and playing the organ. She was active in the Altar Society and quilted with the Wea Quilters.

She worked as an alterations manager at the Jones Store at Metcalf South for several years, and Executive Tailors and Sheri’s Bridal in Overland Park, KS.

She often considered herself as a city girl transplanted to the farm. She always talked about how her Mother-in-law taught her to cook and sew. Her children thought she had eyes in the back of her head and bionic hearing.
She loved to read, and embroider while Dad watched the ball games. She taught us the value of hard work. She can sing and sew for the Lord now.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice or to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
